Access to PIVoT
![]() Access to PIVoT is a research project that builds on CAES' PIVoT, the Physics Interactive Video Tutor. MIT is collaborating with the National Center for Accessible Media on a three-year project investigating web accessibility for deaf and blind users. PIVoT has challenging accessibility issues because of its scientific content, which includes numerous equations, symbols, and diagrams. Research will focus on user interface, navigation systems, and the presentation of video, text, illustrations, graphs and tables. The outcome of the project will be a set of recommendations and guidelines for best practices in web site design for optimal access by individuals with hearing and vision disabilities. The Access to PIVoT project is part of the Web Access Project of WGBH's National Center for Accessible Media, For more informationMore information about Access to PIVoT is available at http://main.wgbh.org/wgbh/pages/ncam/webaccess/pivot/index.html, or contact Laura Koller at lkoller@ceci.mit.edu.
